Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Stand mixer (optional)
  • Instant-read thermometer

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter softened
  • 1 box (11.36 oz) Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix including the garlic and herb seasoning pouch
  • 8 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 pound bulk sausage
  • 2 teaspoons dried chives

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Heat your oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Combine ingredients: If using a stand mixer, add the biscuit mix (including the garlic herb seasoning), softened butter, shredded cheddar cheese, sausage, and dried chives into the mixer bowl. Use the paddle attachment on the lowest speed to combine until a dough forms. Alternatively, mix by hand in a large bowl until all ingredients are well incorporated. It may take a few minutes for the sausage to absorb the biscuit mix.
  • Form the sausage balls: Using a medium cookie scoop or spoon, scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough and roll it into a ball roughly 1 ½ inches in diameter. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  • Bake: Place the sausage balls in the oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 155°F (using an instant-read thermometer).
  • Serve: Remove sausage balls from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

Pro tip: Serve with ranch dressing, honey mustard, or marinara for a flavorful dipping experience. Refrigerate leftovers for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
