Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole-milk ricotta cheese for the creamiest texture
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest optional, for brightness
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 –3 tablespoons hot honey store-bought or homemade
  • Crusty bread crackers, or fresh vegetables, for serving

Instructions

Whip the ricotta

  • In a food processor, blend the ricotta and olive oil until smooth and creamy. If you prefer a more rustic texture, you can whisk the ricotta by hand until it’s slightly fluffy. Add the lemon zest, if using, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Plate the dip

  • Spoon the whipped ricotta into a shallow bowl or onto a serving plate, spreading it out evenly with the back of a spoon. This creates a nice base for the honey drizzle.

Add the hot honey

  • Drizzle the hot honey generously over the ricotta. You can use a spoon to swirl it into the dip for an extra-pretty presentation.

Serve and enjoy

  • Finish with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of black pepper. Serve immediately with your favorite dippers, like warm bread, crackers, or crisp veggies.
