Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a boil. Add the orzo and cook for about 11 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender but firm to the bite. Drain and set aside.
  • In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook, stirring frequently, for about 5 minutes until it’s lightly golden and fragrant.
  • Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the cooked orzo, then add the Parmesan cheese, milk, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Toss until the orzo is evenly coated and the cheese is melted into a creamy sauce.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve warm with additional parsley or Parmesan, if desired.
