Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 3/4 cup homemade or store-bought breadcrumbs
  • 2/3 cup ketchup, divided
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 pounds ground turkey

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven.
Position a rack in the center of your oven and heat it to 350°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.
  • Mix the base.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, breadcrumbs, 2 tablespoons of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the turkey.
Pat the ground turkey dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Then, gently mix it into the prepared base until just combined—don't overmix to avoid a dense loaf.
  • Shape the loaf.
Transfer the meatloaf mixture to your prepared baking sheet. Shape it into an oval loaf about 5 by 8 inches.
  • Top with ketchup.
Spread the remaining ketchup over the top, creating a glossy glaze.
  • Bake to perfection.
Bake the meatloaf for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Pro Tip: For a gluten-free version, substitute the breadcrumbs with almond flour or crushed gluten-free crackers.
