Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken drumettes and flats, separated
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees F. This step ensures that your wings start cooking at the perfect temperature for crispy skin.
  • In a small bowl, mix the baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  • Pat the wings dry with a paper towel and place them in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle the olive oil over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
  • Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the wings, tossing again until they’re thoroughly coated.
  • Arrange the wings in a single layer in your air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece. Cook at 380 degrees F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • For extra crispiness, increase the temperature to 400 degrees F and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Check that the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F before serving. Let the wings rest for 2-3 minutes before digging in.

Notes

Pro tip: Don’t skip patting the wings dry before seasoning. Removing extra moisture is crucial to get that crispy, golden skin.
