Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¼ cup buffalo sauce adjust to taste preferences
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup shredded chicken breast about ½ lb or 1 cooked, boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 cup red bell pepper diced
  • 2 green onions sliced

Instructions

Preheat the air fryer

  • Set your air fryer to 375°F and grease a medium oven-safe ceramic dish. This ensures the dip won’t stick and makes cleanup easy.

Blend the base

  • In a food processor or high-powered blender, combine the cottage cheese, olive oil, buffalo sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Blend until smooth and creamy. Taste the mixture and adjust the buffalo sauce or seasonings to your preference.

Mix the dip

  • Pour the blended cottage cheese mixture into your greased dish. Add the shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, and diced red bell pepper.
  • Stir everything together until evenly combined. Sprinkle a little extra cheddar on top for that irresistible cheesy crust.

Cook in the air fryer

  • Place the dish in your preheated air fryer and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese on top is melted and golden brown. Be careful when removing the dish—it’ll be very hot! Use oven mitts to protect your hands.

How to Serve Your Cottage Cheese Buffalo Chicken Dip
This dip is incredibly versatile and pairs well with a variety of dippers. Here are some ideas:
Serve it with crunchy veggies like celery, carrot sticks, or sliced bell peppers for a healthy snack.
Pair it with pita chips, tortilla chips, or whole-grain crackers for a classic dip experience.
Spread it onto a wrap or sandwich for a flavorful, protein-packed lunch.
Top a baked sweet potato with a dollop of this dip for a creative, hearty meal.
Storing and Enjoying Leftovers
If you have any leftovers, you’re in luck! This dip stores beautifully for later snacking:
Refrigerate: Transfer the dip to an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheat: Warm it in the air fryer at 350°F for 5–7 minutes, or microwave in 30-second intervals until heated through.
Freeze: While I don’t recommend freezing this dip due to the dairy content, it’s so quick to make fresh that you probably won’t need to!
Top Tips for Customizing Your Cottage Cheese Buffalo Chicken Dip
Want to put your own spin on this recipe? Here are a few easy ways to customize it:
Make it spicier: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or extra buffalo sauce for more heat.
Switch the protein: Swap the chicken for canned tuna or shredded rotisserie chicken to save time.
Go dairy-free: Use a plant-based cottage cheese and vegan cheddar for a dairy-free version.
Add more veggies: Stir in some diced jalapeños, green chiles, or chopped spinach for extra nutrition and flavor.
