Cuisine Tex-Mex
- 2 large flour tortillas burrito size works great
- 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a Mexican blend are all fantastic options
- 1 tablespoon butter or cooking spray for greasing the pan
Optional:
- Salsa sour cream, or guacamole for serving
Step 2: Assemble the quesadilla
Lay one tortilla flat in the skillet. Sprinkle an even layer of shredded cheese over the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
If you’re adding any extras (like cooked chicken or veggies), now’s the time to layer them on top of the cheese. Place the second tortilla on top and press down gently.
Step 3: Cook until golden
Let the quesadilla cook for 2–3 minutes on the first side, or until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip the quesadilla using a large spatula.
Cook for another 2–3 minutes on the other side until the cheese is fully melted and the second tortilla is golden.
Step 4: Slice and serve
Remove the quesadilla from the skillet and transfer it to a cutting board. Let it cool for about a minute before slicing into wedges. Serve with your favorite dips like salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.
Enjoy every cheesy, crispy bite!
